We are a global player – but it does not always make sense to invest in the network on our own – especially when you have a reliable partner like Deutsche Telekom.

Highwinds is happy to cooperate with a strong global IP provider such as Deutsche Telekom. We much appreciated the responsiveness and flexibility of the ICSS team, the quick implementation process, and the individual technical support.
Founder and CEO, Highwinds
- Highwinds was able to use the enhanced IP Transit capacity instantly and provide high-end services to its gaming industry and other customers in the required quality and reliability.
- The superior IP connections Deutsche Telekom provides on the German market and its large end customer base make ICSS a favorite, beneficial global partner for Highwinds.
- The global CDN provider appreciated ICSS’s responsiveness and willingness to define contractual terms and conditions that perfectly matched its requirements.
In 2013, Highwinds was undergoing large upgrades of its CDN to accommodate the IP traffic growth expected from its gaming industry customers. At the same time, the CDN provider wanted to give these customers quality access to interesting potential consumer markets in Europe.
The company, whose network is already connected to the high-performance IP backbone of Deutsche Telekom at various locations, was just about to develop a new, important PoP in Frankfurt. At a specific date, this new location was to go live with corresponding IP Transit capacities. In addition, an upgrade of the PoP location in Amsterdam, which had also been connected to the ICSS network up to that point, was pending since Highwinds also had growing IP traffic to manage at this location.
ICSS proposed to implement 80 Gbit of IP Transit capacity in Frankfurt to provide Highwinds with high-quality, instant connectivity to Deutsche Telekom’s global IP network. At the same time, another 60 Gbit were added to the PoP already connected in Amsterdam. This IP Transit solution was attractive for Highwinds customers, giving them - especially via Frankfurt - indirect access to the Group’s large end customer base in Germany and across Europe, representing a strong number of potential gaming end users.
Together with Highwinds, the ICSS Sales and Sales Support team worked out a new annual contract, agreed on new rates, and found new commitments. This was followed by quick processing, installation and activation of the eight IP Transit Ports.
