Ensuring continuity and growth of ICSS’s business in Asia


At the beginning of this year, ICSS entered into an agency cooperation for the APAC region with Hong Kong-based MarvelTec. The company was founded by ex-ICSS managers and experts to provide customers in the area with wide expertise combined with local knowledge. All existing contractual relationships were maintained so that customers would feel they were dealing directly with ICSS. We talked with its co-Founder Ma Tao to hear how the first months developed.


You’ve launched your business at the beginning of this year. How did you perceive the first 6 months?

Ma Tao:
It was a fantastic first 6 months thanks to great teamwork, strong support from Deutsche Telekom colleagues and the long-term trust of our customers. We use the word ‘fantastic’ in terms of new challenges and new experiences. And the pressure to succeed was alleviated by our excitement and eagerness. We ensured the continuity of Deutsche Telekom ICSS’s business in Asia after the Singapore and Japan offices were closed, and at the same time, guaranteed business growth for ICSS with MarvelTec’s small and efficient team. We have also begun new partnerships with other Deutsche Telekom business entities and extended our product portfolio with additional international partners. Our customers have given us very positive feedback.

How do customers benefit from the new set up?

Ma Tao:
The key benefit is that the customer is truly at the center of everything. All solutions, products and resources are tailored around the customer. This is a significant change from before, as we are now able to extend our offerings even further. To satisfy customer needs, we can easily reach out to other DT units and to partners, in order to integrate a solution and process that caters to a customer’s end- to-end request. This is the flexibility MarvelTec has enabled to provide customers with a broader range of products and services that will better serve their demands. For example, we have included Global DIA (Direct Internet Access Services) and SD WAN into our portfolio, and we are also engaging in the M2M and IoT areas. Very recently, we were able to provide AAE1 capacity to continue supporting capacity needs from Asia to Europe.
